From 25 January to 30 March 2025, MAMbo – Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna, a museum of the Settore Musei Civici Bologna, in the Villa delle Rose venue, presents the exhibition CAROL RAMA. Unique Multiples, curated by Elena Re, in partnership with Jacobacci & Partners as part of the Fuorisede project, and which comes under the ART CITY Bologna 2025 institutional programme staged throughout Arte Fiera.

Devised especially for the exhibition spaces of Villa delle Rose, CAROL RAMA. Unique Multiples sets out to highlight the major corpus of multiples produced by Carol Rama between 1993 and 2005 together with Franco Masoero Edizioni d’Arte – Torino, to be found in the Franco Masoero and Alexandra Wetzel Collection. In this extremely intense experience, which lasted a number of years, while exploring the multiple, the artist retraced all the key themes that make up her world, and the aim of the exhibition is to delve into these same territories.

The life and passions of Carol Rama thus take centre stage. From one room to another, her characters, seductions, fetishes and idylls follow on from one another, piecing a story together little by little. At the same time, these figures are the result of a powerful alchemy arising from the encounter between technical knowhow and the poetic dimension. Indeed, it is from her engraved works that a great sense of complicity with the publisher-printer Franco Masoero emerges, as he left the artist all the space necessary in which to unleash her creativity, heedless of any rules.

Hence the oxymoron in the title: Unique Multiples. Multiples created by the artist with the same intensity as her one-off works. For this reason, different versions of the same subject may be featured in the exhibition, at times with a manual pictorial addition to the printed sheet, or coupled with a proof sheet so the particularity of each declination may be grasped. Multiplied art thus breaks out of any predetermined scheme, offering a reflection on Carol Rama’s boundless freedom.

CAROL RAMA. Unique Multiples at Villa delle Rose is produced with the support of Jacobacci & Partners as part of Fuorisede, the project incubator that the company promotes through operations of cultural patronage inspired by its own corporate collection, thus creating a dialogue with both public and private institutions. read the rest of the article»

Villa delle Rose
Characterised by simple and elegant eighteenth-century architecture and set within a large urban park, Villa delle Rose is the evocative space that MAMbo – Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna | Settore Musei Civici Bologna devotes to temporary exhibitions and events held in collaboration with public and private bodies.

Jacobacci & Partners

Founded in Turin in 1872, Jacobacci & Partners is today one of Europe’s leading names in the protection and enhancement of intellectual property. Innovation and creativity are a form of heritage to be safeguarded in all its expressions, with great sensitivity and commitment. For this very reason, twenty years ago Enrica Acuto Jacobacci – chair and CEO of the company – decided to found a corporate collection, one triggering a dialogue between contemporary art and the work carried out on the safeguarding of ideas. This marked the start of the Arte e Progetto collection, curated by Elena Re: a collection that focuses not on individual works but which offers an overall vision, growing hand in hand with the company’s offices, and providing the starting point for a range of cultural projects.

In Milan, at Jacobacci & Partners in Via Senato 8, the curatorial idea was to develop the collection by using the offices to host a project focusing on multiplied art: MULTIPLI. A journey through Italian art. From one floor to the next of the building, this is a path that unfolds amid the multiplied artworks of many artists, including a major space given over to Carol Rama.

Starting with the interest in the theme of the multiple developed in its Milan offices, Jacobacci & Partners aim to valorise the multiplied artworks of Italian artists who – like Carol Rama – have made a major contribution to this field.

Fuorisede, curated by Elena Re, is an incubator of projects that Jacobacci & Partners supports through operations of cultural patronage inspired by its corporate collection, fostering dialogue with public and private institutions.
